She didn't wait for permission.
Aubre Murphy is self-taught. She learned to paint the way she learned everything else — by showing up fully, refusing shortcuts, and giving more than anyone expected.
In 2019, Aubre became the only artist in the country to offer free, custom-made original paintings — some up to five feet in length — to honor the lives of cancer's bravest. Families help design each piece. Every painting is given at no cost to the warrior, most often funded directly out of Aubre's own pocket. In seven years, she has donated 425 original paintings to cancer warriors across the nation — including families right here in Anna.
